Kim Guest, Chief Executive

Kim has been the chief officer of HAVCO since it was formed in 2001. HAVCO is the Council for Voluntary Service which is the voluntary sector umbrella body for Havering. HAVCO has over 200 members who are voluntary and community organisations working in the borough. However the organisation serves over 500 voluntary organisations in Havering.

Kim serves on the Havering Strategic Partnership representing the voluntary sector and on the newly formed Children's Trust for Havering. She has served as a governor of Havering College of HE & FE since 2003.

Kim has worked in the voluntary sector for over ten years, previously working for Lloyds Register of Shipping as a Technical Librarian and for the national medical charity the ME Association as their Information Manager. Kim has also worked in local government for Sefton Council Social Services and Nottinghamshire County Council as a buyer. Kim has a degree in Theology.

Our priorities and commitments:

  • Promote an inclusive community and develop the infrastructure for black and minority ethnic and other minority involvement
  • Increase community involvement and boost civic pride
  • Develop a strong and independent community and voluntary sector
  • Develop solutions to barriers to voluntary sector development, including capacity and premises limitations.
