The Havering's Children's Trust was established in 2006, in line with the government advice and with the full agreement of all local partners.

The Trust's role is to 'Improve the wellbeing of all Havering's Children and Young People and their families'. It does this through the creation and delivery of a local vision agreed by all partners and commissioning services that support its objectives.

The children's Trust's vision is set out in the Children and Young People Plan (CYPP) on page 14, but their main goals are:

  • Give children the best possible start in life, ready for school and ensuring their on-going physical, emotional and mental health;
  • Ensuring children are, and feel, safe from maltreatment or abuse, domestic violence, bullying, crime or environmental dangers;
  • Ensuring all children and young people attend school, are able to enjoy their education and maximise their potential throughout their schooling;
  • Ensuring that all children and young people have access to a broad range of excellent cultural activities and experiences as part of their everyday lives.

The Children's Trust meets every month, and their agenda's are redily available here. The board consits of represnetatives from across 6 of our partners, ranging from NHS Havering to Havering Colleges. You can find a full structure and board member list on page 29 of the CYPP.

The Children's Trust is supported by the Children's Trust Executive. The role of this group is to decide how to achieve the priorities and outcomes that are set out by the Children's Trust, and is included in the CYPP.
