Sustainable Community Strategy

The Havering Strategic Parternship has a strategic role in developing the Community Strategy in consultation with the local community. Havering's Community Strategy creates a framework for improving the quality of life for all people in Havering. The HSP will work together with the whole community and partnerships to achieve our shared ten year vision and priorities captured within this strategy. The HSP will strive to increase the diversity of people actively involved in and contributing to the development of sustainable communities.

The HSP is currently in the process of developing its Sustainable Community Strategy 2008-2012. This Sustainable Community Strategy will set out how partners will work together over the next five years to improve the quality of life for Havering's residents.

The development process began with two workshops in April 2008 (Sustainable Community Strategy Workshop Report - PDF download). These workshops were attended by over 30 people and helped kick start discussions around some of the key issues that face Havering over the coming years, and what partners together can hope to achieve.

Following on from these workshops, further discussions have taken place in all of our HSP Theme Groups, and a draft Sustainable Community Strategy has been developed. This is now available to be downloaded here, and we would welcome any public feedback, but we do ask that any public feedback is sent via email to Jodie Calder. We are hoping for the final publication to be out soon.
