We have agreed the following 5 challenges to make "Havering a better place to live"

Environment - to ensure a clean, safe and green Borough.

The HSP will deliver seamless partnership working to drive out low-level crime and anti-social behaviour. This focussed drive will deliver not only London's lowest levels of crime, but also a Borough where local people feel as safe in its town centres as they do in their homes.

There has been a significant improvement in the cleanliness of Havering's streets and they are now as clean as most other parts of London. Changes in working practices and use of enforcement powers have ensured that improvement targets are been met.

Towns and Communities - to provide opportunities for all, from economic, social, and cultural activities.

Through increased commerce and enterprise, doors will be opened to prosperity for thousand more Havering residents.

Regeneration activity is going on in Havering despite the recession. Partners understand the impact of the recession on the local economy have put in place a range of measures to support businesses, individuals, and voluntary sector organisations.
