Place Survey
2009
The Place Survey is a statutory postal self-completion survey which is carried out by all English local authorities every two years with residents aged 18 or over.
Havering conducted an Interim survey in 2009, which secured 2,846 residents aged 18+ living in the borough. A report, which provides an assessment of their perceptions on a rance of issues relating to life in the borough, can be downloaded here. This report will be used to help inform the council and its partners going forward, including a number of key National Indicators (NI).
2008
The results show that people are happier living in Havering than they were when the same survey was done two years ago. 73 per cent of people are satisfied with Havering as a place to live, up from 66 per cent in 2006.
People said they are also very satisfied with many of the major services delivered by Havering Council, including refuse collection (84 per cent satisfied) parks (72 per cent) and libraries (70 per cent).
However, in common with many councils across the country, satisfaction with Havering Council was not as high as satisfaction with its individual services. 36 per cent of respondents were satisfied with how the Council runs things (against 30 per cent dissatisfied). Only 24 per cent of local people felt that they were able to influence local decision making and 44 per cent felt that the Council did not offer value for money.
