Place Survey 2008

The Place Survey is a national survey that asks residents questions about local services - police, council and health. The results show that people are happier living in Havering than they were when the same survey was done two years ago. 73 per cent of people are satisfied with Havering as a place to live, up from 66 per cent in 2006.

People said they are also very satisfied with many of the major services delivered by Havering Council, including refuse collection (84 per cent satisfied) parks (72 per cent) and libraries (70 per cent).

However, in common with many councils across the country, satisfaction with Havering Council was not as high as satisfaction with its individual services. 36 per cent of respondents were satisfied with how the Council runs things (against 30 per cent dissatisfied). Only 24 per cent of local people felt that they were able to influence local decision making and 44 per cent felt that the Council did not offer value for money.

The Council wants to address this dissatisfaction and find out from you where we need to improve. Havering Council has launched Let's Talk - inviting you to tell us your thoughts about your Borough and your Council.

By listening to your views we can shape your services to meet your needs. Please take the opportunity to tell us what you think. By working together we can make Havering a better place to live.
