Office for National Statistics (ONS): Neighbourhood Statistics

Find a summary report for your local neighbourhood. Summary reports include: deprivation, people, health, work, education, housing, crime and environment.

To get a summary report of your local area:

  1. Type your full postcode into the box on the right hand side of the screen under the green toolbar labelled 'NEIGHBOURHOOD SUMMARY'
  2. Click the 'Search' tab.
  3. This will load a new screen with a summary profile of the area. You can navigate to the different summary profiles by selecting the tabs above the text and map.

OR to find more detailed statistics about a specific area:

  1. At 1. type your full postcode, ward name or local authority name into the box on the left hand side of the screen under the orange toolbar labelled 'FIND STATISTICS FOR AN AREA'
  2. At 2. select the type of area you need statistics for (Local Authority, Ward, New Deal For Communities, Super Output Area, or More Areas) Note: New deal for Communities does not apply to Havering.
  3. At 3. Click the 'Search' tab.
  4. You will then be presented with a list of possible 'Topics' or datasets. Choose which one you want to view and click the link.
  5. A subset list will appear on the screen. Choose which one you want to view and click the link.
  6. You will then be able to view the information in a table on-screen, or download the information to a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet by clicking the 'Download this table tab' which is to the left of the map.
